 Albright & Wilson Launches  Packaging for a More Sustainable Future

As part of our ongoing commitment to Sustainability and the reduction in the carbon footprint of our products, Albright & Wilson Australia has completed a review its product packaging variants with the view of closely aligning our actions with our Sustainability objectives. Not only is this the sustainable thing to do environmentally, but also meets our focus on delivering cost effective and competitive solutions to our valued customers.

Packaging in Returnable IBCs

Albright & Wilson Australia has for many years supplied products to the market in bulk and closed-loop returnable IBCs packaging options.   These are sustainable packaging options, and will continue to be offered to our valued customers into the future.  With the proliferation of surplus IBCs in the market, many customers are struggling with the significant problem of disposal and/or storage of empty containers.  Albright & Wilson closed loop returnable IBCs system is the perfect solution!

Packaging in Plastic Drums

Various studies around the globe in recent years have consistently shown that where suitable, plastic is a more sustainable packaging option than steel due to a lower carbon emission profile and usually more readily available recycling streams.  Therefore, commencing August 2011, Albright & Wilson Australia Limited will progressively phase-out packaging of products in steel drums in favour of plastic drums where it is product-suitable to do so.

Packaging in One Way IBCs

As a further initiative to reduce carbon foot print of packaging, we actively encourage customers who purchase in 3 or more drum lots at a time to consider purchasing in IBCs. Our friendly customer service team will offer this option at the time of order placement.

Kim joins us from Salkat Australia, a leading distributor of speciality chemicals to the personal care, home care, pharmaceuticals and food industries. He has also held many senior positions at other industries such as Sabinsa Australia, Rejuvacare International and Cognis Australia.

Kim is also the outgoing President of Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ASCC)
